The German occupant of Room 101 in Building C and his family had been out for dinner. They returned to find the sliding door ajar but no sign of forced entry. Gone was a lot of gold jewelry such as two one baht weight necklaces, two rings, a bracelet, 1,750 Euros and 66,500 baht. A handbag was also rifled containing documents and a further 175 Euros.
The German’s Thai wife Mayuree Waworachek, 46, said the family were out with their daughter and grandson when the thieves struck. Mayuree did the obligatory pointing to the space in the bedroom wardrobe previously occupied by the safe.
Police are investigating.
